FC Barcelona expands into Rocket League

Spanish football club FC Barcelona has expanded its presence in esports by signing a Rocket League roster.

The team – which previously competed under the guise of ‘Savage!’ – will debut in the European RLCS on April 7th. FC Barcelona also fields a team in Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer league, eFootball.Pro.

ELEAGUE brings in Axe as personal care partner

Turner and IMG’s esports brand ELEAGUE has entered a multi-platform partnership with male grooming brand Axe.

Acting as the official personal care partner of the tournament organiser, Axe will promote its products through its digital, social, and television channels. Axe will also host activations and on-site activations at ELEAGUE events.

Formula 1 New Balance Esports 2019 Series will have a doubled prize pool

Formula 1 has announced the third season of the F1 New Balance Esports Series will have a boosted prize pool for $500,000 (£381,145).

Split into three stages, the F1 New Balance Esports Series will see official Formula 1 teams and their drivers compete in four live events throughout the year.

Epic Games announces $500K Fortnite World Cup Warmup

Epic Games announced a Warmup event ahead of the online qualifiers for its Fortnite World Cup.

Boasting a $500,000 (£381,145) prize pot, the online tournament is last official bout of practice duos can have. The full ruleset of the Fortnite World Cup Warmup wasn’t revealed at the time of the announcement.
