- Tencent and PUBG Corp. have organized the PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019.
- The year-long event will feature both semi-pro and professional teams with a $2M prize pool.
- The event comes following last year’s PUBG Mobile Star Challenge that included a grand finale in Dubai.
Tencent and PUBG Corp. are furthering their commitment to making PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS
The move follows a number of PUBG Mobile esports initiative in the past 12 months including the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge that featured a $600K prize pool and a final at Festival Arena in Dubai.
Tencent also partnered with PUBG Corp. in January to support the OPPO PUBG Mobile India Series, an open tournament featuring a prize pool worth $142K. That event was sponsored by smartphone brand OPPO which supplied products for the event as additional prize support.

The PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 will be divided into spring and fall splits that have their own prize pools and a global finale, with the Spring Split Global Finals happening in July. No details regarding how events would be otherwise formatted was disclosed. The division of the event’s prize pool between the spring and summer splits was not released.
This new year-long structure represents a heightened commitment by Tencent and PUBG Corp. as they have upped the overall prize pool by nearly four times that of the PUBG Mobile Star Challenge from last year. A release from PUBG Mobile said that over 5,000 people attended the Star Challenge finals in Dubai.
