Team SoloMid Database-Link-e1521645463907 parent company Swift has acquired the Blitz Esports App, according to an ESPN report. Blitz Esports is a competitive gaming companion app for League of Legends Database-Link-e1521645463907. By providing players with statistics about their gameplay sessions, the app is designed to help them adjust their techniques and improve overall skillsets.

According to uncited ESPN sources familiar with the transaction, Swift acquired Blitz Esports in November for a multi-million dollar sum. Swift will continue to develop and service the desktop app, which entered beta testing in June 2018. Blitz Esports is not endorsed by League of Legends developer, Riot Games Database-Link-e1521645463907, nor does the developer having any kind of licensing agreement with the company.

Blitz experienced a major shift this past November when the company’s team was recruited by gaming chat service, Discord Database-Link-e1521645463907. At that time, Blitz ceased all content creation, laid off eight employees, and transitioned remaining staff to the development of Discord products. Blitz indicated that the app would be handed over to a new owner “soon” without service interruptions. That owner, as it turns out, was Swift.

Team SoloMid was founded in 2009 by brothers Andy “Reginald” and Dan Dihn and is best known for its North American League of Legends team, but has since expanded to other competitive titles including Counter Strike: Global Offensive Database-Link-e1521645463907, Fortnite Database-Link-e1521645463907, Hearthstone Database-Link-e1521645463907, and Super Smash Bros Database-Link-e1521645463907.

The esports brand has almost three million accumulated followers on social media. Sponsorship deals have included Chipotle, Gillette, Dr. Pepper, and G Fuel, among others.
