Australian tournament platform Esports Mogul (Mogul) has announced a partnership with Team Secret, which will generate team-branded competitions and premium fan memberships.
Mogul plans to launch a Team Secret-branded hub on the Mogul.gg platform within 60 days, and offer global tournaments across “a number of the largest esports games in the world,” according to a release. Tournaments will be available across multiple skill levels and take place over a span of 12 months.
Additionally, the Team Secret hub will offer a paid subscription service for fans, with between 40-45% of revenue awarded to Team Secret based on the total number of subscribers. Members will be able to earn cash prizes and “money can’t buy experiences,” according to a release.
“Team Secret identified an opportunity where we wanted to engage with our community and run community-focused tournaments and [offer] value-added memberships, but we did not have the right platform or partner to do so,” said Team Secret CEO John Yao, in a release. “Our partnership with Mogul delivers a great solution through their technology, platform, and team to solve for this.”
Mogul Chief Operating Officer Mark Warburton said in a release that the deal “signifies our ongoing worldwide expansion and reach with a major esports partner and is a key step in broadening our global network.”
In May, Mogul inked a similar deal with esports organization Alliance, with a team hub and paid fan subscriptions, as well as branded competitions. Mogul’s Dota 2 Alliance League was announced for Europe and Southeast Asia in August with a $100K prize pool.
