Team Liquid and global enterprise software technology company SAP have announced that their data analytics partnership will extend from Dota 2 to Liquid’s League of Legends team, as well.

SAP has provided analytics data and actionable in-game insights to Team Liquid’s Dota 2 team since the partnership was first announced in April 2018. Dota 2 and League of Legends are similar core games, and according to Team Manager Michael Artress in a release, SAP’s data will help the League of Legends team choose in-game champions and make strategic decisions.

“For SAP, this brings a brand new challenge as we extend our focus into a second competitive title for the first time,” said SAP Director of Strategic Partnerships Milan Černý, in a release. “Using our existing experience and various parts of the analytics from Dota 2, we will be supporting Team Liquid’s League of Legends team during their toughest challenge yet—the League of Legends World Championship—and beyond on their continuous mission to be one of the most successful teams in the world.”

As noted, Team Liquid will compete in the League of Legends World Championship, with the four-time League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) champions set to play its first World Championship group stage match tomorrow at Berlin’s Verti Music Hall.

SAP has also partnered with Dota 2 tournament operators over the last year to provide analytics data, including for the Dota 2 EPICENTER Major, MDL Disneyland Paris Major, and Kuala Lumpur Major.
