  • Team Liquid and Secretlab have developed a special edition chair celebrating 20 years of success.
  • As part of the deal, Secretlab will provide chairs for Team’s Liquid’s training facilities.
  • The first activation of the partnership will see Secretlab and Team Liquid collaborate on its newly named “CHAIR-ity” stream.

Today Team Liquid announced that it has partnered with Singaporean gaming chair manufacturing company Secretlab, to launch its 20-year special edition chair. The Secretlab Team Liquid Edition chair pays homage to the organization’s “20-year legacy of success” and features the Team Liquid Logo placed prominently on the backrest, the team name stitched onto the sides, and new rallying cry, “Ride or Die,” stitched on the headrest.

Founded in 2000 as a StarCraft clan, Team Liquid has won more prize money than any other team in esports history, earning more than $35.1M (USD) to date. Although the team has won many tournaments and championships, perhaps the most notable victory came when Team Liquid’s Dota 2 team won The International in 2017, taking home $10.8M.

As part of the deal, Secretlab will provide chairs for Team’s Liquid’s Alienware Training Facility in Santa Monica, California. As well as its new facility in Utrecht, Netherlands, upon completion of the build.

The first activation of the partnership will take place in May when Team Liquid and Secretlab collaborate on its newly named “CHAIR-ity” stream. During the stream, Secretlab will donate proceeds from every sale of its Secretlab Team Liquid Edition chair to a charity to be revealed at a later date.

Team Liquid became a part of the aXiomatic portfolio in September of 2016, whose leadership group includes Peter Guber, Ted Leonsis, Jeff Vinik, and Bruce Karsh and investors such as NBA stars Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. aXiomatic, which raised $26M in a Series C funding round, is also part of The Walt Disney Company’s investment portfolio; it was added to the company’s 2017 Accelerator program.
