SXSW to Host 2020 eMLS Cup Presented by PlayStation

eMLS has announced its 2020 competitive schedule as well as details about its marque competition, the eMLS Cup. Twenty-five players, each representing different MLS clubs, will compete in 2020 for the title of EA Sports FIFA 20 best player in North America.

eMLS is an official league partner of the EA Sports FIFA 20 Global Series. 

According to the announcement, the 2020 season will begin in January starting with the eMLS League Series presented by PlayStation two majors in the lead up to eMLS Cup. 

Portland and Philadelphia will each host a league series in conjunction with their home MLS soccer teams, the Portland Timbers and Philadelphia Union.The eMLS season will head to Austin, Texas, for the finals  in March during the annual SXSW event. The eMLS Cup will be presented by PlayStation during its premier gaming portion of the conference. More tournament details will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 2020 eMLS season schedule is as follows: on Jan. 10, League Series One will take place in Philadelphia; on  Feb. 15, League Series Two takes place in Portland, Oregon; and on March 21, the eMLS Cup takes place at SXSW in Austin, Texas.

FIFA 20 realized 45M unique players across PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One during FY 2019, according to data released by Electronic Arts as part of its FY 2019 financial results.
