Johnson Health Tech’s Matrix brand has been named the official exercise equipment partner of SK Gaming, the companies announced this week.
SK Gaming recently opened its Magenta Facility training center in Cologne, Germany, and outfitted the facility with Matrix equipment. Many of SK Gaming’s pro teams practice and train at the facility, with a regimen that includes physical fitness and mindful nutrition.
“With our new partner Matrix, we have established the perfect base for the workouts of our head of performance, Yann-Benjamin Kugel,” said SK Gaming CEO Alexander Müller, in a release. “With their fitness devices and the space for recreation in our facility in Cologne, we provide ideal infrastructure beyond just gaming. Nutrition and workouts are now essential parts of our pro players’ routine and practice days.”
Müller and Kugel recently spoke with The Esports Observer at the opening of the Magenta Facility, where they discussed the team’s focus on physical training and why they believe that it’s a necessary part of the organization’s future success.
“If we want to still compete in four or five years, we need to change the system,” Müller told The Esports Observer. “That’s the disruption we feel we need to make. That’s why we built this facility.”
