Simplicity Taps AMC Networks International – Latin America for Flamengo Esports Sponsorships

by Victor Frascarelli

U.S.-based Simplicity Esports has signed a commercial partnership with AMC Networks International – Latin America to sell sponsorships on behalf of Flamengo Esports in Brazil. Simplicity manages  Flamengo Esports, one of the largest esports organizations in the country, which is also associated with Brazillian soccer team Clube de Regatas do Flamengo

Roman Franklin, president and COO of Simplicity Esports, told The Esports Observer that this new deal is an effort to boost the commercial strength of Flamengo Esports as a brand:

“There is a lot of untapped potential,” he said.

AMCNI-LA is looking to secure business opportunities from different markets, according to Franklin, and open doors to brands that are not yet in Brazil’s esports environment but wish to be. Simplicity is counting on its new partner’s network and business relations to raise awareness of Flamengo Esports’ brand value in the international market.

Flamengo Esports currently has partnerships in place with PC peripherals maker Redragon and streaming platform Twitch.

League of Legends is currently the only game Flamengo Esports participates in but the organization recently announced the formation of a team to play Garena’s Free Fire.

In January, Simplicity licensed the rights to operate in Brazil as Flamengo Esports, which has been in existence since 2017 and became one of the main League of Legends teams in the country, winning the second split of the 2019’s Brazilian Championship of League of Legends. Simplicity secured rights from Flamengo in January 2020, which are valid until 2023.
