According to the release, the undisclosed six-figure sponsorship deal includes SCUF logo placement on OpTic Halo, OpTic Texas, and Envy’s Rocket League jerseys.

In addition, SCUF has been named the official controller of OpTic Texas as well as the OpTic Gaming and Envy brands. The new deal also gives SCUF the first right of refusal as the official controller partner for any controller-based esports teams the organisation may add in the future.

In November 2021, OpTic Gaming and Envy Gaming announced a merger that sees both entities now operate under a joint brand.

Diego Nunez, VP of Marketing at SCUF parent company CORSAIR, commented: “As a foundational partner for both the OpTic and Envy brands, we’re excited to see this long-standing relationship flourish and evolve.

“Witnessing the growth of these brands over the years has been thrilling, and we can’t wait to continue this journey together, working side by side to provide gamers access to the best professional gaming equipment on the market.”

The announcement also revealed that CORSAIR’s other brand, Elgato, will also sponsor the organisation. As a result, the consumer technology brand will outfit OpTic Gaming President Hector ‘HECZ’ Rodriguez, and creators across OpTic and Envy’s brands, with its streaming equipment.

As part of the agreement, both SCUF and Elgato plan to collaborate at live events and on the production of various content campaigns. This includes the launch of product collaborations and limited drops, such as the new OpTic Gaming controller.

Shay Butler, Vice President of Dales and Partnerships at Envy Gaming, commented: “Continuing our decade-long partnership is another example of showcasing how to play the best you have to use and partner with the best.

“We’re excited to continue to work with SCUF and Elgato to push competition and the industry forward.”

Esports Insider says: It’s great to see long-term collaborations within the esports sector. While it’s important to establish new partnerships, sometimes maintaining old ones can be just as crucial. This deal from the onset looks quite expansive, and the fact that SCUF gains right of refusal also highlights how much OpTic and Envy trust in the controller brand. Moreover, teaming up with another CORSAIR brand in Elgato is a shrewd move as well.
