League/Tournament Brands:

  • Rogue has teamed up with Polish organization x-kom AGO to grow its presence in Poland through a new collaborative team brand.
  • Rogue will continue to oversee roster management while x-kom AGO establishes the brand’s marketing strategy.
  • LEC teams are making efforts to connect themselves to specific European regions.

Esports organization Rogue, one of the ten long-term partners participating in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC), has announced the creation of a new competitive brand which will compete in the Polish League of Legends league, Ultraliga.

Formed in partnership with Polish team x-kom AGO, the new AGO ROGUE team will look to continue the competitive success Rogue’s secondary team Rogue Esports Club saw in Ultraliga during 2019. The squad will also look to compete in EU Masters, a European League of Legends circuit which pits teams from various regional leagues in Europe against each other.

According to a release, Rogue will remain responsible for managing the AGO ROGUE roster and career development of team members while x-kom AGO will oversee the team’s living and training arrangements in Warsaw as well as its marketing strategy. In April, x-kom AGO established a partnership with sportswear brand Puma.

While the LEC teams do not officially represent any specific European region, several organizations have made their own efforts to establish such a connection. Excel Esports has made a concerted effort to tie itself to the U.K., establishing a training facility inside Twickenham Stadium. OverActive Media recently rebranded its LEC operation to MAD Lions – a well-known esports brand in Spain.
