The Season 7 World Championship of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, Psyonix
The event will be held from June 21-23, and is the league’s second-straight World Championship to take place in the United States. The Season 6 World Championship was held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas last November.
Two more teams will compete at the World Championship this season, thanks to the addition of the South American region, bringing the total to 12. With that change comes a shift in format for the finals, as the World Championship has dropped the double-elimination format of old in favor of a group stage approach that eventually gives way to single-elimination matches.

RLCS Season 7’s regular-season league play just began this weekend and will span five weeks, with a total season prize pool of more than $1M. Psyonix has not yet revealed how much of that sum will be awarded at the World Championship.
In addition to the new region, Season 7 also sees the start of Psyonix’s new partnership with ELEAGUE, which has Turner Sports’ ad sales team handling sponsorships and marketing for the RLCS. Additionally, ELEAGUE will produce a TV series based on the RLCS season. Psyonix is also about to launch an in-game Esports Shop, which will sell branded team items and share a cut of revenue with participating organizations. The shop will go live on April 16.
