Roc Nation Sports, the sports management agency division of the entertainment company founded by rapper Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, has signed FIFA player Mosaad “Msdossary” Al-Dossary as its first esports athlete.
The Saudi Arabian player won the FIFA eWorld Cup 2018 and earned $250K in the process, and was the runner-up for this year’s FIFA eWorld Cup 2019. All told, Al-Dossary—who competed for Rogue until recently—has won more than $526K to date in FIFA, according to Esports Earnings.
“Mosaad has had incredible success in the FIFA and esports world, and Roc Nation is proud to work beside him as his career continues to flourish,” said Roc Nation Sports International Michael Yormark to Reuters. “Mosaad is the perfect fit to be our first esports client—he brings the same drive and hunger for success to his sport that all of our athletes carry.”
Roc Nation Sports represents dozens of traditional sports players across the NFL, NBA, MLB, boxing, and more. Al-Dossary’s signing comes before the start of EA Sports’ FIFA 20 Global Series, which will award more than $3M during its season and culminate in July 2020’s FIFA eWorld Cup.
