Riot Games is creating a stand-alone governing body for collegiate League of Legends 
esports, according to a source. The move comes weeks after the NCAA BOG (Board of Governors) decided not to establish a framework for esports governance, and further entrenches the precedent that game publishers, not the NCAA or other third parties, will control college esports.
Riot’s new governing body will remain wholly owned and controlled by the company. However, it will be structured as a separate division in the same way that its 13 pro leagues are, including the LCS
