On Monday, Riot Games announced that it has chosen Redd+E to handle broadcast distribution rights for the 2020 Pacific Championship Series in South-East Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao.
The PCS is the League of Legends professional esports league in South-East Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. A new league, the PCS looks to combine the attributes of the League Master Series and League of Legends Southeast Asia Tour. According to the release, the goal of the new league is to continue to increase the level of competition in the region.
The league will field ten teams which include Hong Kong Attitude, J Team (Taipei), Liyab Esports (Philippines), Nova Esports (Thailand), ahq eSports Club (Taipei), Alpha Esports (Taipei), G-Rex Gaming (Hong Kong), Resurgence (Singapore), and Talon (Hong Kong). The tenth and final team to join the PCS will be announced soon.
Broadcasts will be available in English, Mandarin, and Thai.

The battle for media rights will be a huge theme in 2020 and beyond as esports tournament organizers look to find additional revenue streams. Recently, Bilibili, a Chinese video-sharing company similar to YouTube, paid ¥800M RMB ($113M USD) for a three-year exclusive livestream deal for the League of Legends World Championships in China.
Redd+E is a subsidiary of the Singapore-based Reddentes Sports, which collaborates with other businesses to facilitate and organize esports events and tournaments.
