All three entities have partnered with Black Molly Entertainment, a creative esports production collective, to help bring the $250,000 (~£184,500) prize pool event to the country. As a result, Black Molly Entertainment will lead the organisation of the tournament.
The Pinnacle Cup Championship Finals will feature a total of eight teams, three of which have already been announced. So far, Heroic, Fnatic and Imperial will take part in the series, with additional invitees expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
Tom Warburton, COO of GRID Esports, commented: “Pinnacle Cup Championship is a testimony of the shared, long-term vision we have been committed to together with Pinnacle from the beginning of our cooperation – to provide a unique, entertaining offering to esports fans and capitalise on GRID unique data offering, and Pinnacle pioneering experience in esports betting.
“Now Pinnacle Cup has evolved into a firmly established esports tournament attracting multiple world’s foremost teams. We aim to reinforce this position with the upcoming LAN event in Lund.”
GRID Esports and Pinnacle first teamed up in 2019 and have since delivered two iterations of Pinnacle’s CS:GO tournament series. According to both entities, the finals is expected to be the largest event in the partnership’s history. Prior to the finals, an additional two online Pinnacle Cups will be played.

In addition, the City of Lund’s cooperation is reportedly part of a wider goal to showcase a ‘world-class viewing experience’ outside capital cities.
Paris Smith, Pinnacle CEO, added: “We are delighted to announce the Pinnacle Cup Championship in Lund. Pinnacle Esports has become a standalone brand specifically for the esports community, which we continuously want to listen to and show our appetite for growth within.”
Esports Insider says: It’s very exciting to see yet another CS:GO LAN event be announced. Throughout the pandemic Pinnacle and GRID have provided online CS:GO tournaments, as such it only makes sense for the conclusion of the Pinnacle Cup series to take place in front of an audience.
