- The 2020 Overwatch League schedule has been announced, and teams have started revealing where they will play in their respective home markets.
- The season will begin on Feb. 8, 2020 with the New York Excelsior at the Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom.
- The Dallas Fuel will also host a homestand on Feb. 8-9 at the Allen Event Center—the first of five Fuel homestands in 2020.
Alongside today’s release of the complete 2020 Overwatch League home schedule, teams have started announcing which venues will host their respective homestand weekends next year.
All 20 teams will host matches in their home markets during the 2020 season, with each team hosting at least two of the two-day homestand weekends over the course of the year. Some teams will host as many as five homestands in 2020.
The New York Excelsior will host the season’s first homestand on Feb. 8-9 at the Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom. The Andbox-owned NYXL will then return to the venue on May 30-31 for its second and final homestand of the season.
The Dallas Fuel will host five homestands during 2020, with the first also taking place on Feb. 8-9 (later in the day following the NYXL’s matches) at Esports Stadium Arlington. The Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas, will host the team’s second homestand weekend on April 4-5, while the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas—the same venue that hosted the Fuel’s first-ever homestand this season—will host the Fuel’s third 2020 weekend on April 25-26. Venues for the final two Fuel homestands in 2020 have not yet been confirmed.
The Hangzhou Spark will also split its dates between multiple venues, with the Chinese team’s first homestand weekend on Feb. 29-March 1 at the Hangzhou Theatre and the second on June 20-21 at the Wuzhen Grand Theatre.
The Los Angeles Valiant will host its 2020 homestands on April 18-19 and Aug. 8-9 at The Novo at L.A. Live. Owned by Immortals Gaming Club, the Valiant will host this weekend’s Kit Kat Rivalry Weekend Overwatch League homestand at the same venue, offering a taste of what to expect from its 2020 events.
OverActive Media’s Toronto Defiant will also host its 2020 homestands on the very same weekends as the Valiant—April 18-19 and Aug. 8-9—and will hold both events at Toronto’s Roy Thompson Hall. The Defiant has dubbed its first homestand the “Spring Siege,” with the second called the “Summer Storm.”
The Vancouver Titans previously announced that it will hold its 2020 home matches at the Rogers Arena, and we now know that those events will take place on May 16-17 and July 4-5.
All told, the 20 teams will host a grand total of 52 homestands during the course of the 2020 Overwatch League season, which will span 27 weeks of regular-season competition between Feb. 8 and Aug. 9. We’ll be updating this piece as additional venues are announced. Tickets for the entire season go on sale next week, on Aug. 28.
