Ninjas In Pyjamas are your champions of OGA Dota Pit Minor – esportsjunkie

After an incredible last day of the Dota 2 minor, Ninjas in Pyjamas are the champions of OGA Dota PIT 2019. NiP takes home $125,000 USD and a trophy. With this win, the EU side has qualified to compete in the MDL Disneyland® Paris Major.

NiP fighting the odds

NiP was rated to finish strong in the competition, but the side didn’t have a successful start. They surprising lost to RNG and BOOM ID. However, the team didn’t give up and really found its way in the playoffs. The side beat Forward Gaming, Alliance and Majestic eSports with a 2- 0 record. After their flawless run in the playoffs, the true test of the team was against EHOME. The final finished 3-2 in favor of NiP.

Four games of the finale were quite exciting as each game lasted for over 40 minutes. If you think that is exhausting then you will be surprised to know that the last game lasted for over 67 minutes. Everyone was shocked to see EHOME’s Spectre losing the late game to the Huskar and Drow duo of NiP. We can surely say that this series was one of the most exciting games of the 2019 season.

Popular Pick, Doom

Doom was the most popular hero of the tournament and Ninjas in Pyjamas picked it on more than one occasion. The hero had a win-rate of just over 50%. Yet it was either banned or picked in the 97% of the competition’s draft. We hope that the hero gets picked more often in the Paris Major. Since there are no patch updates coming in the next few days.

NiP played the competition like a qualifier for the MDL Major. In the interview, the leader of the team, Peter “ppd” Dager said that the team really wanted that first place in the Minor. So that they can forget about their disastrous run in the EU Qualifiers. NiP was eliminated from the qualifiers by The FInal Tribe and finished at 6th place. Now, the team will be aiming to replicate the Vici Gaming form, to win the following major after winning the Minor.

South Asian Teams Dominating

Since it was one of the last competition of the 2018-2019 DPC, it had some exciting surprises. Against all odds, the Southeast Asian BOOM ID and South American Majestic Esports performed quite decently. BOOM ended the competition at 5th place while Majestic prevailed with a 4th place finish. We really hope that these teams shine in the qualifiers of the remaining competitions. They could very well make it to TI if this kind of form continues.

Now we wait for MDL Paris Major that will kick off on the 4th of May. The competition will distribute 15,000 DPC points and $1,000,000 in prizes. After the competition, we could see new teams confirming their spots to the TI9. We are prepared to see some exciting results in Paris.
