The NBA 2K League has announced a partnership with esports and gaming television network eGG Network to air its matches on linear television in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Australia. In addition to regular-season matches, eGG Network will air the league’s three in-season tournaments.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
While viewership on Twitch for the NBA 2K League remains low, the loss of traditional sports due to COVID-19 has increased interest in sports-related gaming content. The league signed deals with ESPN and Sportsnet last month, and last week announced four new sponsors.
