As part of the deal MSI will revive the MSI Gaming Arena while bringing back the Mystery Box live audience segment. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
As the official gaming partner of ESL Pro League, MSI will also sponsor Seasons 11 and 12 with gaming hardware, monitors, PCs, motherboards, graphic cards, and laptops.
“Our continued partnership with MSI has allowed players and fans at ESL tournaments to experience esports in unprecedented ways,” said Paul Brewer, SVP brand partnerships, ESL. “Onsite activations like the Mystery Box Segment and MSI Gaming Arena have engaged fans online and at past competitions, and we’re looking forward to bringing these experiences to ESL Pro League Season 11 and 12.”
According to the release, MSI will once again revive the Mystery Box segment that sees ESL talent quiz two on-site audience members attending the Season 11 Finals in Denver, Colorado, with esports trivia questions. Whoever answers the questions correctly will receive a “mystery box,” containing items provided by the MSI team. Previous year’s prizes have seen winners receive high-powered motherboards, graphics cards, and more.
The MSI Gaming Arena (MGA) will also return in 2020. Teams from North America, Europe, APAC, and CIS will have the opportunity to compete online to determine who the top team is in each region. The top four teams will be invited to play in front of a live audience at the MGA Grand Finals at the ESL Pro League Season 12 Finals later this year. The MGA Grand Finals will also be livestreamed on MSI’s social media accounts and official website.
Season’s 11 and 12 of the ESL Pro League feature a prize pool of $750K USD for each season and features teams such as Astralis, Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, and FaZe Clan.
