PC manufacturer MSI has issued a public statement announcing that it is working to terminate its partnership with esports organization Method “effective immediately.” This follows a similar announcement made by CORSAIR yesterday, which has ended its sponsorship of Method.
“Although we have greatly enjoyed our partnership with Method over the past years,” the statement from MSI reads, “we can no longer continue our partnership with them in good faith.”
Since last weekend, a wave of sexual misconduct allegations have been made against streamers, staff, and personalities throughout the esports and gaming industry. Among those accused have been World of Warcraft streamer and competitor Josh (last name unknown) who was removed from Method on June 24, and co-CEO Sascha Steffens who was placed on unpaid administrative leave pending a third party investigation the same day.
