Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition Adds Sponsor Roadrunner Records

 Music label Roadrunner Records will curate music for the Mortal Kombat 11 Database-Link-e1521645463907 Pro Kompetition as an official sponsor, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Database-Link-e1521645463907 announced today.

 Roadrunner Records—a division of Elektra Music Group—will provide songs from its artists for Pro Kompetition tournaments in 2019-20, with music played during breaks and on Twitch streams. The label will also provide an official Spotify playlist available via the Mortal Kombat channel on Discord Database-Link-e1521645463907.

 The partnership will officially begin this weekend at CEO 2019 in Daytona Beach, Florida, the second stop of the Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition, although the first stop at Combo Breaker in May also featured Roadrunner Records music. The first featured song is “You’ll Never Find Me” from nu-metal band Korn, which is pulled from its upcoming album, “The Nothing.”

 “We are excited to partner with such an iconic and storied franchise like Mortal Kombat as the official music sponsor for the Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition,” said Elektra Music Group co-presidents Mike Easterlin and Gregg Nadel, in a joint statement. “The fighting game community and heavy music world have such a common ethos, it’s a natural fit. As the gaming and music cultures continue to converge, we are thrilled to be at the forefront of such an innovative partnership.”

 The Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition spans nine live events across North America, Latin America, and Europe, along with online tournaments, with at least $250K up for grabs across the entire season. The Pro Kompetition will culminate in a Final Kombat championship in Chicago in early 2020.

 Roadrunner Records and Elektra Music Group are owned by Warner Music Group, a sister company of Mortal Kombat 11 publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
