Method partners with Save the Children for World First Race

by David Hollingsworth

English organisation Method has announced plans to team up with charity Save the Children for the duration of its Race To World First: The Eternal Palace event.

Method and Save the Children partnered during The Battle of Dazar’alor event earlier this year, which raised $17,000 (£13,500) – $7,000 (£5,500) more than the original target.

The two parties have set a target of $20,000 (£16,000) for the upcoming event to celebrate the charity’s 100th year. Viewers will have the option to donate to the charity at any point during the broadcast through links in Twitch chat and under the stream. Method will provide constant total updates and shout-out those who donate.

Maral Moghadasi, Gaming Consultant for Save the Children Charity commented: “Over the last several years Save the Children has partnered with the online gaming community and content creators across platforms like Twitch, YouTube and Facebook to help in our efforts to ensure that every last child has the chance to grow up healthy and safe. We are thrilled and honoured to have Method celebrate Save the Children’s 100th anniversary and mission by choosing us as their beneficiary for yet another Race to World First. This time for The Eternal Palace.”

The event gets underway on July 16th, with Method streaming 24/7 until the final boss of the raid is taken down. The organisation will effectively racing against Limit and Pieces, two guilds that partnered with Red Bull for an event of their own that’s identical in nature.

Secretlabs recently announced plans to sponsor both of the Method and Red Bull World First Race streams, with the gaming chair brand providing seating for those taking part.

Esports Insider says: Gaming and esports have always had the power to do great things. Method, and more importantly its viewers, proved that last time by raising an amazing amount of money for a worthy cause. We’re sure the fundraising will do even better this time!
