The Premier Tour, the official League of Legends tournament for the German-speaking market, recently announced new partnerships with health insurer BARMER and gaming hardware supplier HyperX.
BARMER will support the Premier Tour in 2019 and 2020 as it’s official health partner, although specific activations were not mentioned. The announcement did note, however, that “an expansion of the commitment is already planned.” BARMER is the second insurance company to support the competition, alongside R+V Versicherung, which offers coverage for homes, cars, etc.
As an official supplier, HyperX will provide the Premier Tour with Solid State Drives (SSDs) for matches. The Kingston Technology brand is one of the most active sponsors in esports, and also has ongoing endorsement deals with sports athletes such as Joel Embiid, Gordon Hayward, and Dele Alli.
The Premier Tour focuses on the German, Austrian, and Swiss (DACH) market, and is run by both Riot Games and Freaks 4U Gaming, while Lagardère Sports manages the competition’s commercial partnerships. After a final Winter cup in 2019, the Premier Tour will move to a multi-tier league structure next year, with current regional partners including La Mia Grande pizza, Shell V-Power, and NicNac’s.
