Golden State Warriors (GSW) esports affiliate Golden Guardians has announced its expansion into three new esports titles – Apex Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and World of Warcraft. The move brings 10 new competitive players onto the Golden Guardians roster to compete and stream across the three games.
The Golden State Warriors created Golden Guardians as one of the 10 initial teams selected as a long term partner in the League of Legends Championship Series in 2018. While GSW also operates an NBA 2K League franchise under the name Warriors Gaming Squad, this is the first time the Golden Guardians brand has operated in a game outside of League of Legends.
As part of this expansion, Golden Guardians revealed a new logo and color scheme that will encompass all four competitive rosters. According to a release, the organization will continue to expand into new titles in the coming months, singling out Rocket League as a focus.
