Game publisher and league operator Konami has revealed that its upcoming Tokyo esports building will feature an events venue, production studio, and public esports school.

The previously-announced building, the Konami Creative Center Ginza, is set to open in the Ginza district of Tokyo in early 2020. The facility will feature a production studio designed to host esports competitions, with the ability to output streams in multiple languages and with computer-generated effects. Konami’s release suggests that the venue can also be used for music, theatre, and other entertainment needs.

Additionally, the facility will feature the Esports Ginza School, which will be open to the public and aims to help develop talent across the industry, including players, commentators, and tournament operators. Lastly, the facility will feature an Esports Ginza Store with gaming PCs and peripherals, and the publisher’s Konami Amusement branch will build and sell its own esports-focused computers and accessories.

Konami runs an esports league for its Pro Evolution Soccer franchise, and the latest version of the game released this week with a new esports-centric moniker: eFootball PES 2020. The European eFootball.Pro league will be joined by an eFootball.Open series for the upcoming season, with a combined prize pool of more than $2M.
