UK-based trainer and sports fashion retailer JD Sports has announced HyperX and Samsung as sponsors of its JDX esports competition.
The deal will see both brands provide gaming equipment for the JDX Gaming qualifiers and finals, in which the latter will take place at MediaCityUK dock10 in Salford on August 3rd.
In June, JD Sports unveiled full details of its JDX competition, with players battling it out in tournaments on FIFA 19, Fortnite, and Rocket League. Once the two qualifiers across London and Manchester are completed, the final 36 players will progress to the next stage.
Stephen White, Group Marketing Director of JD Sports commented in a release: “HyperX and Samsung are hugely respected for their technical innovation and support for Esports and we are delighted to be working with them for our events.”
The winners of the competition will receive a cash prize, gaming equipment courtesy of HyperX, and an all-expense-paid trip to the HyperX Las Vegas Esports Arena at The Luxor. They will also have the chance to be part of the #IAMJD campaign.
HyperX sponsors a number of notable esports organisations, including the likes of Echo Fox, Complexity Gaming, Excel Esports, and Pittsburgh Knights. Samsung is currently partnered with Gen.G and Legacy Esports.
Esports Insider says: Any esports event wouldn’t be complete without top-notch hardware and peripherals. With HyperX and Samsung both being big names within esports, the players competing at JDX will be in good hands.
