R+V Versicherung, a German insurance company, will be the official supplier for the League of Legends (LoL) Premier Tour. Though details have yet to be revealed, the insurer will work with Riot Games to deliver “exclusive events and competitions” and to give away LoL skins and prizes, according to the announcement. Financial terms were not disclosed.
R+V Versicherung entered esports by expanding its partnership with Schalke 04, becoming the jersey sponsor of the soccer club’s esports division. Schalke 04 Esports fields both an academy roster in the Premier Tour, and a team in the top level LoL European Championship (LEC).
First introduced in 2018, the Premier Tour is run in partnership with German esports agency Freaks 4U Gaming, and is one of Riot’s European regional leagues (ERLs).
