Its goal is to become the leader in Southeast Asian esports and “make esports happen anywhere, anytime,” which this funding will help to achieve.

Jirayod Theppipit, COO of Infofed discussed the funding in a release: “There is a huge untapped potential for the eSports industry in Southeast Asia and the investment from GameWith will help us to establish a stronghold in this region by creating a proper eSports ecosystem for e-sports lovers.

“Having a leading game company like GameWith as our strategic partner, the roadmap to expand our footprint in Southeast Asia will be made easier and smarter. Following this round, we expect to roll out several eSports collaborations that will enhance our position as an industry leader, as well as create 10,000 industry-related jobs for the digital-savvy generation in this region by 2025.”

We are excited about the company’s growth prospects and proud to have this opportunity to support the journey.”

Lauched in 2013, GameWith is a Japanese gaming media company that typically focuses on Chinese coverage. Details on the investment it made into Infofed have not been disclosed at the time of writing.

Esports Insider says: Southeast Asia is a booming esports market, especially with mobile esports but other platforms and titles are popular there too. With a dedicated arena, Infofed is in a good spot to get its share of success on the market and this funding brings it one step closer to its goal.
