  • South American Dota 2 team Infamous Gaming recently signed sponsorship deals ahead of its appearance at The International 2019.
  • The deals include a one-month partnership with drink brand Cifrut for jersey placement and the release of co-branded bottles.
  • Infamous Gaming was the first South American team to qualify for The International in 2017, and is also sponsored by HyperX, OMEN by HP, and Microsoft Windows.

Qualifying for The International 2019Dota 2’s de facto world championship, with the largest single-event prize pool in esports history (at $33.8M USD and rising)—has aided Infamous Gaming’s ability to attract sponsors.

It’s a return trip for Infamous Gaming, which competed in 2017 after being the first South American team to ever qualify for the high-profile tournament. Qualifying again this time around, Infamous Gaming opened the doors for regional sponsors to once more gain visibility via one of the most-watched esports tournaments of the year.

Infamous Gaming recently signed a sponsorship deal with The AJE Group’s drink brand, Cifrut, and according to a representative from esports agency R3PREZ3NT, it’s a one-month deal for jersey placement and social media promotion. Additionally, Cifrut will release co-branded drink bottles that feature Infamous Gaming on them.

The team also signed a six-month sponsorship deal with antivirus software maker ESET, which includes prominent logo placement on the front of their jerseys, social media promotion, and an affiliate/referral component.

R3PREZ3NT also helped the team broker a sponsorship with tournament platform Epulze, for which Infamous Gaming played against the winners of a community tournament a week before departing for The International. An agency representative called it “a continuing relationship going forward.”

“The International is really important for us, because we make a lot of contacts and we close a lot of deals, for the tournament and for the future,” said Infamous Gaming owner and founder Christian Roque. “We have a media content plan for this tournament, to ensure the profitability of our sponsors and the maximum exposure of them.”

Infamous Gaming’s updated jerseys for the event feature a mix of sponsors new and existing, with the Cifrut and ESET logos joining those of brands such as HyperX, OMEN by HP, and Microsoft Windows.
