Gaming accessory brand HyperX has retained NFL player JuJu Smith-Schuster as a gaming and lifestyle ambassador with a new two-year deal, the company announced today.
HyperX originally added the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver as a brand ambassador in June 2018. The new deal will see Smith-Schuster use HyperX’s gaming headsets and lifestyle headphones, along with other peripherals such as keyboards, mice, mousepads, and microphones.
Smith-Schuster will wear HyperX headphones as he arrives in NFL stadiums for Steelers games, for example. He will also appear in HyperX marketing campaigns and participate in fan events, as well as display HyperX branding on his livestreams. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“JuJu’s gaming prowess, fashion sense, and incredible skill on the field make him an ideal HyperX ambassador for both gaming and lifestyle audio,” said HyperX influencer marketing manager Dustin Illingworth, in a release. “His visibility and relevancy on and off the field will help us immeasurably on our journey towards being the world’s best gaming lifestyle brand.”
Smith-Schuster first made his mark in the esports space by releasing an apparel line with FaZe Clan in January 2018, and has played Fortnite online with the likes of Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and rapper Aubrey “Drake” Graham. Smith-Schuster is also an esports ambassador for sports technology company Hyperice (no relation to HyperX).
