Gen.G Esports has announced a “Player Wellness Campaign” in partnership with health club chain LA Fitness and guided meditation app Simple Habit.
The ongoing initiative is built around Gen.G’s own approach to player wellness, and will feature health-related content designed for esports players and fans. As part of the campaign and partnership with Gen.G, LA Fitness will share fitness tips targeted at gamers, while Simple Habit will feature lessons targeted towards players and streamers. Gen.G will also include financial responsibility content within the campaign.
“Maintaining a high level of gaming skill can be both physically and mentally demanding. We want our players and fans to be well-rounded in all aspects of life,” said Gen.G Esports Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Martin Kim, in a release. “Through this Wellness campaign, our goal is to develop a healthier generation of gamers and instill a mindset of self-improvement.”
In July, Gen.G opened its Los Angeles headquarters, which offers players access to healthy foods and rest pods, as well as LA Fitness memberships. According to a release, Gen.G plans to gradually enhance its Player Wellness Campaign over time.
