Dubai-based esports organisation Galaxy Racer has announced the official launch of a new esports league in Pakistan.
Dubbed Pakistan’s first-ever professional esports league, the Supreme Galactic League will take place from August to October 2022. According to the release, the event will feature eight professional esports teams from across the country as well as other ‘renowned names’ competing against each other.

Further details regarding the teams, the titles which will be played, distribution of the prize pool, live-streaming platforms and its schedule have yet to be revealed.
Galaxy Racer first announced its expansion into Pakistan last year through a partnership with entrepreneur Fakhr-e-Alam. In January 2022, the organisation launched Gamers Galaxy, a prominent esports tournament that took place in the country.
Fakhr-e-Alam, CEO of Galaxy Racer Pakistan, commented: “We are thrilled to announce the Supreme Galactic League. With more talent emerging and the esports ecosystem growing exponentially in Pakistan, Galaxy Racer aims to set a benchmark in the industry and show its commitment to provide a global platform for our players with the launch of this historic league.”
The aforementioned Gamers Galaxy event featured a $100,000 (~£76,200) prize pool. Moreover, both Gamers Galaxy Pakistan and the Supreme Galactic League are said to be part of the organisation’s vision of creating new jobs within the country and helping make Pakistan a top esports destination.
Earlier this year, Galaxy Racer also expanded into the North American market through its newly established HER Galaxy brand.

Walid Singer, Chief of Staff of Galaxy Racer, added: “We have seen tremendous support from the local esports community that has helped us evolve into a firmly established esports organisation in a short span of time.
“The Supreme Galactic League is a testimony of our long-term vision of contributing towards the growth of esports in the country by attracting Pakistan’s top esports teams to battle it out with a best-in-class league structure.”
Esports Insider says: Galaxy Racer has big plans for the MENA region, especially Pakistan, and wants to turn the region into an esports hub. After Gamers Galaxy was a success, the organisation now launches another league to further boost the local esports ecosystem and showcase Pakistan’s talent. It will be interesting to see how Galaxy Racer’s plans will evolve and how impactful the competition will be on the region.
