NODWIN Gaming, a gaming solution and esports company based in India, has appointed Sidharth Kedia as CEO. Reporting to the company’s Managing Director, Akshat Rathee, and board, Kedia will be based not out of NODWIN’s headquarters in Gurugram, but in Mumbai—where he will open the company’s first regional office.

Kedia was most recently deputy chief commercial officer for Viacom 18, a joint venture between Indian television company TV 18, which owns 51%, and Viacom Inc., with a 49% stake. In 2018, NODWIN and Viacom 18 partnered to bring Sweden-based digital lifestyle festival DreamHack to India for the first time. The event will run a second edition in New Dehli from Dec. 6-8.

“It’s an exciting time for the firm as the overall esports scene in India is on the cusp of exponential growth,” said Akshat Rathee, in a statement. “With his rich experience in the media, entertainment, technology, and investment sectors coupled with his in-depth understanding of the gaming space and his proficiency in scaling businesses, I’m confident [Sid’s] leadership will provide the fuel that will propel esports and NODWIN Gaming to the next level.”

Kedia started his career in information systems advisory with Ernst & Young in 1998. He then joined General Electric’s (GE) finance management program in 1999, and then moved to a role in GE consumer finance in Mumbai in 2002.
