FlyQuest Names teaRIOT First Official Energy Drink In Multiyear Deal

FlyQuest announced a multiyear sponsorship deal with teaRIOT beginning May 28.

teaRIOT was chosen as the first official energy drink of FlyQuest for its “shared values.”

The partnership will include multiple activations such as live events, content integration, and branding.

North American esports organization FlyQuest

revealed a multiyear sponsorship deal with California-based organic energy drink brand teaRIOT. Citing “aligned values,” Flyquest named teaRIOT the organization’s first-ever official energy drink.

teaRIOT closed over $3 million in a Series A funding in March, which was used to expand distribution to multichannel retailers including Whole Foods Markets, Target, and Amazon.

FlyQuest competes in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) and also has a Fortnite

roster. Brand activations with teaRIOT will consist of branding, live events, and content integration. This includes FlyQuest college Esports Career Workshops, a series of career and networking fairs hosted at college campuses across the US.

In January 2018, FlyQuest named 5-Hour Energy the official energy shot of its League of Legends team. In an email to The Esports Observer, FlyQuest clarified that while 5-Hour Energy is the team’s official energy shot, teaRIOT is the organization’s official energy drink.

“At FlyQuest, we know great partnerships stem from aligned values,” said Ryan Edens, CEO of FlyQuest in a release. “We are excited to find a partner in teaRIOT whose values of positivity and showcasing greatness align with our own. We believe that this partnership will benefit not only our fans but our own players and staff by providing a healthier, alternative source to traditional energy drinks.”

As recent trends have shown, it has become more common for esports players to be treated as athletes, with consideration for nutrition, sports medicine, mental health, and other needs.

In February, for example, NBA 2K team Magic Gaming signed a sponsorship and health services deal with regional healthcare network Orlando Health. Also in February, Skillshot Media signed a deal with Northside Sports Medicine Network to provide services for SMITE

and Paladins
