Yesterday, technology and digital publishing platform Minute Media, which is run by the Israel-based company Pro Sportority Ltd., announced that it has raised $40M USD in venture capital led by returning investor Dawn Capital with participation from existing investors. This latest investment brings the total funding raised by the parent company of esports media platform DBLTAP to $160M.

Aside from DBLTAP, Minute Media is the owner of six more sports and lifestyle-focused digital media publications, including 90min, 12up, Mental Floss, The Big Lead, The Players’ Tribune, and FanSided.

Asaf Peled, the founder and CEO of Minute Media, said in a statement that “this round of funding will help us invest in our technology platform and enable us to look at new digital brands as acquisition targets.” Haakon Overli, general partner at Dawn Capital, talked about Minute Media’s value proposition by explaining that “Minute Media’s best-in-class platform enables publishers to create, distribute and monetize high-quality content.”

Earlier this week, the U.S. Navy Recruiting Command launched an integrated esports campaign that includes partnerships with live-streaming platform Twitch, esports organization Evil Geniuses, esports tournament organizer ESL, and DBLTAP in an effort to raise awareness for Navy career opportunities within the esports community.
