EPIC.LAN and Overclockers UK extend partnership

by Jonno Nicholson

UK-based gaming and esports event organiser EPIC.LAN has extended its partnership with hardware retailer Overclockers UK for a second consecutive year.

As a result, the retailer will remain the headline sponsor for its events that will take place throughout 2022.

Overclockers UK will feature a range of hardware displays and demonstrations at events alongside advising attendees on how to maximise performance from their gaming equipment.

Jon Winkle, Managing Director at EPIC.LAN, spoke on the extension: “Thanks to support from our community and Overclockers UK, we were able to bring LAN gaming events back safely at the end of 2021. Our renewed partnership for 2022 means we can continue working closely together to support UK gaming in whatever form events take this year.”

The retailer is one of two named partners for EPIC.LAN’s 2022 events, joining gaming chair manufacturer noblechairs, which has been named the organiser’s official chair partner.

The initial collaboration between the two parties was signed in February 2020 prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. With a lack of in-person events, the partnership transitioned to online events where a range of activations took place through live streams.

Andy Welsh, Marketing Partnerships and Relationships Manager at Overclockers UK, also commented: “We are looking forward to working with Jon and the EPIC.LAN team once again this year, aiming to build on what we can deliver to the community throughout 2022. It’s great to be welcomed back for another year by everyone, and we’re looking forward to getting stuck in!

Esports Insider says: Despite the pandemic, EPIC.LAN’s partnership with Overclockers UK has continued to benefit both parties so it’s hardly surprising to see the partnership extend for another 12 months.
