Malaysian esports and gaming entertainment broadcaster eGG Network has announced that it will broadcast the NBA 2K League in Southeast Asia.

Starting on June 16th, NBA 2K fans in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Australia will be able to watch a linear telecast of the league.

The network currently offers coverage of a range of international esports events, including BLAST’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competition and The Race All-Star Esports Battle from Torque Esports.

In May, the NBA 2K League announced that matches would be broadcast on ESPN network ESPN2 and its online platforms. Earlier this month, it forged partnerships with gaming retailer GameStop, memorabilia manufacturer Jostens, software corporation SAP, and Swiss watchmaker Tissot.

Starting from the sixth week of regular-season competition, eGG Network is to broadcast the remainder of the regular season through to the NBA 2K League Finals and all three in-season tournaments. Dates for the finals and the tournaments have yet to be unveiled, presumably due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Esports Insider says: With eGG Network reportedly broadcasting over 2,000 hours of live esports content annually on its channel, the ability to show the rest of the NBA 2K League season will certainly help it reach those numbers and open the competition up to a whole new audience.
