eFootball.Pro has reached a broadcast agreement that will see it broadcast on French television channel ES1.
The inaugural season of the Pro Evolution Soccer competition will be broadcast in its entirety on the channel from March 19th.
Even though it kicked off in early December 2018, ES1 will show the backlog of matches up until the finals of the tournament on May 19th. The channel will air numerous reruns of each day of action and has tapped Alix Dulac, a PES journalist, and Sofian Le GEEK, a YouTuber and Manager of Neo Esports, to commentate.
Six teams compete in eFootball.Pro, and they will all be recognisable to football fans. The teams that take part are Barcelona, Schalke 04, AS Monaco, Celtic FC, Boavista FC, and FC Nantes.
ES1 has previously broacast the likes of Rainbow Six Siege Pro League, Six Major Paris, Rainbow Six Siege Coupe de France, DreamHack Open Leipzig, PUBG Global Invitational, and The International.
Just last month, eFootball.Pro entered an agreement with German television channel Sport1 to broadcast matches and highlights across its network. Brokered by Sportrader, the deal result in gameplay from the event being broadcast on eSports1, as well as Sport1’s website and YouTube channel.
Esports Insider says: eFootball.Pro hasn’t necessarily put up big numbers online but it does have a number of television broadcast agreements at this point so it’s hard to know just how many eyes are on the competition. It’s clear that Konami is trying hard to push it and we’re glad to see that they’re being proactive about boosting viewership in different countries.
