Today DreamHack, in conjunction with Wizards of the Coast, announced that DreamHack will host four $100K tournaments featuring the card game Magic: The Gathering Arena.
The first event to host the tournament will be DreamHack Anaheim, the first-ever DreamHack event on the U.S. west coast which takes place Feb. 21-23, 2020. Other tournaments that will feature Magic: The Gathering Arena include DreamHack Dallas, May 22-24; DreamHack Atlanta, Nov. 13-15; and DreamHack Winter, Nov. 27-29.
Magic: The Gathering Arena is a free-to-play digital version of the card game Magic: The Gathering, which is developed and published by Wizards of the Coast.
DreamHack’s Magic: The Gathering Arena tournaments will use an open format so that ticket holders for each event can register and compete. The competitive format for the tournaments will see a Swiss-system being used, which will feature a $100K USD prize pool. Each event will be live-streamed.
