DreamHack has appointed Roger Lodewick as its new co-CEO, who will manage the gaming and esports events company alongside current co-CEO Marcus Lindmark. Lodewick succeeds Peter Nørrelund, who will head the new DreamHack Sports Games entity, which will focus on creating leagues and broadcasts around sports simulation games.
DreamHack Sports Games already has partnerships in place with the Dutch football league, Eredivisie’s esports league eDivisie, and with Swedish Allsvenskan’s eAllsvenskan and Danish eSuperliga. A series of six competitions featuring the game World Golf Tour (WGT) has also just been announced, to be run in partnership and in tandem with the European Tour.
Both Lodewick and Nørrelund will report to Modern Times Group (MTG) President and CEO Jørgen Madsen Lindemann. Lodewick had a tenure with TEAM Marketing AG, the marketing agency of UEFA Club competitions. Nørrelund, prior to serving as EVP, head of product development and incubation and co-CEO of DreamHack, led Danish sports operations at MTG.
