Doritos Signs on as Official Marketing Partner of Twitch Rivals – The Esports Observer|home of essential esports business news and insights

Game streaming platform Twitch has announced a new marketing partnership for its esports competition brand Twitch Rivals. Doritos will join fellow PepsiCo brand MTN DEW AMP GAME FUEL and the U.S. Army National Guard as an official marketing partner of Twitch Rivals.

The partnership will begin with Twitch Rivals’ $1M USD charity tournament Twitch Rivals Super Games which features professional athletes and streamers competing together in Fortnite. The finals for this event will take place on April 22.

Twitch partnered with Doritos in 2018 during its annual convention TwitchCon for an invitational streamer Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 tournament that featured Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, Ben “Dr Lupo” Lupo, and Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek. The company has been steadily growing its Twitch Rivals brand over the last several years, creating unique competitions that highlight streamers and influencers across a wide array of games.

Often, Twitch Rivals will host the first high-profile tournament following a new game’s debut on the platform, as was the case with the current leading title VALORANT. The Twitch Rivals VALORANT Showdown took place on April 7 during the early days of the game’s closed beta and featured teams led by popular streamers such as Tim “TimTheTatman” Betar and Jaryd “Summit1g” Lazar.
