Spanish lollipop and confectionery brand Chupa Chups announced a sponsorship deal with Vodafone Giants, the Spanish esports organization that fields teams in six games including League of Legends and FIFA. This is the first entry for the company in the esports sponsorship space. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
According to the announcement, Chupa Chups is looking to esports as a new place in which to invest in order to explore new territories to reach consumers.
In 2019, the team was not accepted as one of the initial franchise organizations in the newly rebranded League of Legends European Championship (LEC) and has since been playing in other events and tournaments. The organization also field teams in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, FIFA, Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, and Call of Duty.
Vodafone Giants has previously signed deals with Nike, Versus Gamers, Drift, and others.
