China’s League of Legends Pro League Rebrands, Summer Split Begins June 5

TJ Sports announced that its top League of Legends competition in China, the League of Legends Pro League (LPL), has rebranded with a new logo. According to the announcement, the rebranded logo represents the “aggressive playstyle” and “brave and fearless” nature of the league.  

TJ Sports is a joint venture of League of Legends maker Riot Games and Tencent Holdings.

TJ Sports also announced that the LPL Summer Split will start on June 5. The top four teams from the Summer Split will represent LPL in the 2020 League of Legends World Championship in China this October.

On May 11,  Wei Huang, vice director of Shanghai Pudong District Propaganda, stated at a press conference that the League of Legends World Championship will not be delayed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will still take place in the Shanghai Pudong district.
