BS2, a digital bank in Brazil, is now sponsoring two of the main esports organizations in the country, paiN Gaming and Vivo Keyd. Both sponsorships were announced at the same time by the bank on Friday. According to the announcement, it is a movement by the company to establish itself as a partner in the gaming and esports universe.
BS2 also launched a special social media project called “BancoBS2.gg,” seeking to have direct communication with the audience on Instagram and Twitter.
Vivo Keyd CEO Tiago Xisto spoke to The Esports Observer about the new deal: “Having a new master sponsorship is very rewarding for everyone in the club. With that, we have more resources to invest in infrastructure,” and states that ”it means that we are able to show the benefits of esports for the market in Brazil.”
The announcement also marks the migration of the bank from traditional sports to the esports, as its over a year-long sponsorship with the Brazillian soccer team Clube de Regatas Flamengo is being terminated on June 30. Under the original terms of the deal, it was set to expire in December. The deals with paiN Gaming and Vivo Keyd are valid for one year.
paiN Gaming CEO Thomas Hamence tells The Esports Observer that “the movement of the BS2 bank, which until recently supported soccer, is a recognition of the importance of engaging with the esports community in the marketing strategies at the financial sector in Brazil.”
