Brazilian agency Gaming Culture revealed the sponsors of its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) women’s championship, the Girl Pwr Invitational. Gaming peripheral manufacturer Dazz and BB Consórcios, a product from the Brazilian bank Banco do Brasil, were announced as new sponsors. They join existing sponsors such as international restaurant chain Outback Steakhouse and educational franchise Microcamp.
The entry of Banco do Brasil brings special attention as it is one of the biggest banks in Latin America, having 52% of its shares owned by the Brazilian government. This is not the first time Banco do Brasil has sponsored an esports competition: it has sponsored the Brazilian Championship of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive since October 2019.
Gaming Culture Founder Peterson Rodrigues told The Esports Observer that “supporting the Girl Pwr championship only reinforces the value that the people in the bank give to dialogue and to the plurality of ideas.”
Gaming Culture is an agency focused on connecting non-endemic brands to the esports universe. Rodrigues explains that “Gaming Culture works to strengthen the esports ecosystem, and giving visibility to athletes in a competitive environment with great sponsors is part of this work.”
Announced earlier this month, Girl Pwr Invitational will bring together female teams from some of the main Brazilian organizations. The championship will take place on June 28, July 7, and July 5 with exclusive broadcasts on Gaming Culture’s Twitch.
