Beyond the Summit is a tournament organizer and production company that has run esports events since its advent in 2012. The company that has run both CS:GO and Dota 2 tournaments will once again sponsor a CS_Summit event which it did in 2019 with CS_Summit 5, also a CS:GO event.
Previously, CS_Summit events were separate stand-alone tournaments run by the organizer. CS_Summit 6 is an official Valve event due to its connection with the Rio Major in terms of the qualification points that can be accrued by participating in this competition. Teams qualify for the major by accruing points competing in various tournaments and finishing well.
The Rio Major is one of Valve’s CS:GO major championships which features 24 teams and a $1M prize pool. The Major Championships are considered to be the most prestigious tournaments in the CS:GO scene.
