Ballistix Gaming Partners With NRG, Shock for 2019

by Trent Murray
  • Ballistix Gaming has partnered with NRG Esports and the San Francisco Shock through 2019.
  • NRG is one of the only OWL team owners to sign sponsorship deals the cover both entities.
  • Ballistix previously owned its own Heroes of the Storm team.

PC performance memory brand Ballistix Gaming has announced a strategic partnership with Overwatch League Database-Link-e1521645463907 team San Francisco Shock Database-Link-e1521645463907 and its parent organization NRG Esports Database-Link-e1521645463907. The deal will last through 2019. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Patrick Soulliere II, global esports and gaming marketing manager for Ballistix, told The Esports Observer that the deal includes jersey logo placement with both teams as well as branded content and fan giveaways.

Over the last year, NRG has signed several partnership deals that cover both organizations including Nighthawk Pro Gaming, Sennheiser Gaming, and Cal Berkeley Esports. This strategy is relatively unique to NRG and the Shock, as the majority of Overwatch League sponsorships are specific to that team.  The Shock also has its own sponsorship with Hyperice, while NRG’s list of partners includes Qualcomm, Events DC, OPSeat, and Twitch.
