German videogame publisher Astragon Entertainment announced today that has sponsored a team that will compete in Giants Software’s upcoming Farming Simulator League .
Astragon, which distributes Farming Simulator games in German-speaking countries, has sponsored the team known as Hektar Helden, which won the first Farming Simulator Championship event in 2017. The five-player team will compete as Astragon Hektar Helden.
“As a long-standing partner of Giants, we accompanied Farming Simulator since day one,” said Astragon Entertainment CEO Julia Piffer, in a release. “Now we are more than happy to become part of this important milestone in the history of Farming Simulator by supporting the team of Astragon Hektar Helden during their FSL journey.”
The inaugural Farming Simulator League season will begin at Giants’ own FarmCon 19 event from July 27-28, at the headquarters of farming machinery manufacturer CLAAS in Harsewinkel, Germany. Giants Software recently released the new Farming Simulator League competitive team mode via a free update to Farming Simulator 19 .

The Farming Simulator League season will span 10 European events between 2019 and 2020, with a €250K ($280K USD) total prize pool and tournaments planned at major gaming expos such as gamescom and Paris Games Week. The €100K ($112K) championship finals will take place at FarmCon 20 next summer.
Giants Software has partnered with Intel , Logitech , Nitrado , and Noblechairs as league sponsors, with farm-tech companies expected to sponsor other teams.
