N3rd Street Gamers has enlisted The Kellogg Company and its various Kellogg’s snack brands as sponsors of its National Championship Series Academy Tier events at Walmart stores.
The National Championship Series includes amateur events in Fortnite and Overwatch, and will hold competitions on the Cheez-It Grooves Tour in Dallas (Aug. 28-Sept.1), Spokane (Sept. 11-15), Colorado Springs (Oct. 2-6), and Kansas City and Nashville (dates for both to be announced). All told, Kellogg will be a partner for 25 Academy Tier events.
Kellogg will also sponsor an Overwatch tournament in Denver, a National Championship Series major, that has a $15K USD grand prize. Additionally, the brand will sponsor “Gaming and Snacking” watch parties for the Overwatch League Grand Finals on Sept. 29 at select Walmart stores. “Partnering with a globally recognized brand like Kellogg’s is humbling and validates our model of providing national-scale grassroots esports marketing capabilities,” said N3rd Street Gamers founder and CEO John Fazio, in a release. “This type of brand partnership will be essential in helping us grow the market by reaching more people and convincing more gamers to compete in esports competitions like the National Championship Series.”
